Our Calgary Childcare Centre Keeps Parents Updated and Informed

At Lynnwood Learning Centre, we believe that children should be exposed to a socially inclusive and culturally sensitive environment, where social responsibility is nurtured. We interact with the children at a level that they can connect with – offering comfort through words and tactile interactions and let them know that we hear and understand them. We believe in guiding children toward appropriate behaviours, not punishing them for inappropriate ones. Guidance involves teaching them to understand the consequences of their actions and to become responsible for them. In all circumstances, children at Lynnwood Learning Centre are treated with respect.

Lynnwood Learning Centre is committed to providing our children with healthy food. Our environment provides for the development of lifelong healthy eating, nutritional and wellness practices and daily physical activity. We provide a home-cooked a morning and afternoon snack and lunch daily. Our menus offer varying food choices that meet the Canada Food Guide requirements and standards. Each day, we provide the children with two thirds of their daily nutritional requirements. Children with minor food allergies are provided with an alternative meal according to the Canada Food Guide. Parents are responsible for providing meals and snacks for children with special diets. In order to maximize the safety of children with severe allergies, Lynnwood prohibits peanuts in the centre premises.
